This morning (Monday 5 January), PCC David Jamieson and DPCC Yvonne Mosquito attended the funeral of Lord Knights, who became Chief Constable of West Midlands Police back in 1975.
Paying tribute PCC David Jamieson said: “We have a lot of reasons to be grateful to Lord Knights as the person who turned six separate police forces into the single cohesive West Midlands Police force we have today.”
“He was a highly regarded officer who will long be remembered for the huge contribution he made to policing in the West Midlands.”
