The community remedy gives victims a say in the out-of-court punishment for low level crime and anti-social behaviour. The Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 places a duty on the Police and Crime Commissioner to consult with members of the public and community representatives on what punitive, restorative or rehabiliative actions they would consider appropriate to be contained in the Community Remedy document.
