| #POWERS | We’ll be using Section 60 powers in and around Birmingham city centre again tonight. This gives us the power to stop and search people we suspect may be involved in violence involving weapons, without the need to have reasonable grounds. The S60 is in place from 7pm until 5am tomorrow (31 December) following violence involving weapons over recent days. Three men remain in custody on suspicion of Cody Fisher’s murder after detectives were granted a Magistrates Court extension for two to question them further. Two people arrested for assisting an offender have been released on bail and a further two remain in custody. Our priority is to keep you safe.
