Authorised to take place between 2020 hours on Friday 21st July – 0200 hours on Saturday 22nd July 2017.
Within the boundaries as defined by the Authority, specifically the Northfield, Frankley, Gravelly Hill, Winson Green, Small Heath and Birchfield areas of Birmingham West NPU.
In relation to recent incidents involving firearms discharges and a number of other violent criminal offences in these areas which have seen production of weapons by certain criminal elements of the community. There is therefore a need to protect the community from such violence by preventing further crimes.
No searches or arrests took place under the actual S60 authority, although two persons were arrested for possession of CS spray under other Stop and Search Powers, with two others arrested for drugs offences.
