| In total between 7th July 2022 and 15th July 2022 there have been seven significant incidents five of which involve the confirmed discharge of firearms. Of these five incidents six people have been injured one of whom has sustained fatal injuries. In addition to this there has been a further fatal stabbing of a 16 year old child and a second incident that is currently being investigated as an attempt murder of a further 17 year old child. In summary seven incidents have result in two deaths and a further 6 people injured. Since the initial incident on the 7th July a combination of information known from the various investigations that are being undertaken and intelligence products has resulted in West Midlands Police gaining a greater understanding of these events, how they are linked and the potential motivation behind these events. |
