| On Friday 15 July at Faulkners Farm Drive in east Birmingham an unauthorised street party took place. What started peaceful quickly progressed to a large-scale disorder. A gun is thought to have been fired, officers who responded were attacked and knives were recovered from the area. There is information to suggest that other similar events are being planned and serious violence may take place at these parties. These temporary additional powers will help us keep everyone safe. |
