Police and Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson hosted his annual Business Summit on 18th January 2018. The event focussed around tackling business crime and helping businesses.
West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner, David Jamieson said: “The progress that we have made in the past year with regards to business crime makes this year’s summit the biggest we have ever held. We now have the Strategic Business Crime Partnership up and running which has been instrumental in engaging local, West Midlands businesses with the police.
“It was great to see so many businesspeople at the summit. People were able to be informed on crime prevention measures and meet other businesses.”
The agenda this year will include topics such as removing modern slavery from the supply chain and what the police are doing to tackle the rise in vehicle crime.
Waheed Saleem, co-chair of the Strategic Business Crime Partnership and the Police and Crime Commissioner’s Strategic Policing Crime Board, said: “Business crime affects us all and can have a significant impact on the economic well-being of the region, therefore it is important that businesses can work with the police to prevent and tackle business crime together, to protect jobs and encourage investment in the region.
“The Business Summit is an excellent way for businesses to not only engage with the work that the police are doing strategically, but also to network and share their expertise with others.”
