David Jamieson (Labour) is re-elected as the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner.

The results of the election for a new West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner will be announced today (Friday 6 May 2016) following yesterday’s election.  There are four candidates standing for election:

  • David Jamieson (Labour)
  • Les Jones (Conservative)
  • Pete Durnell (UKIP)
  • Andy Flynn (Independent)

Supplementary Voting

PCC elections use the Supplementary Vote system, which is different to a normal election.

Supplementary voting works as follows.  Voters should mark on the ballot paper their first choice and can – if they wish, it’s not compulsory – mark on the ballot paper their second choice too.

If a candidate receives more than half of all the first choice votes, they are elected immediately.
