Your Commissioner

Welcome to the website of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner

David Jamieson was elected Police and Crime Commissioner on 21 August 2014 following the death of Bob Jones on 1 July 2014.  David was re-elected and re-took the oath of office on 6 May 2016.

The Police and Crime Commissioner's Police and Crime Plan, sets out police and crime objectives, and the policing that the Chief Constable must provide.  It sets out the targets and performance he expects West Midlands Police to achieve, and the financial and other resources that will be made available for policing.

Financial oversight is provided by the Joint Audit Committee.  The Police and Crime Commissioner is also obliged to publish a wide range of information about their work and policing.

David is committed to consultation and listening to the real experiences of people on policing, crime and community safety.  You can sign up for the Commissioner's newsletter below.
