Budget, Precept, anticipated income and proposed expenditure

The Police and Crime Commissioner sets the budget for West Midlands Police.  Part of the money that pays for policing comes from local taxation.  Part of the Council Tax, often called the Policing Precept, goes directly to West Midlands Police.  The Policing Precept is set by the Police and Crime Commissioner.

Most of the rest of the funding for West Midlands Police comes from central government - money raised from general taxation.
