Stop and Search Scrutiny Panels
West Midlands Police has established ten stop and search
scrutiny panels, one in each Local Policing Unit.
Members of the public can join the scrutiny panels, and their
agendas and reports are published. They review the Force's
use of stop and search, including examination of individual
anonymised stop and search records.
Every six months, representatives from each Stop and Search
Scrutiny Panel come together as a "Stop and Search Commission" to
consider issues at Force level.
The next Stop and Search Commission is scheduled to take place
in summer 2018.
