Victims Should Come First

Victims summit YM

THIS CONSULTATION IS NOW CLOSED - THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED.

This consultation was about the future of support for victims of crime after funding transfers to the Police and Crime Commissioner in April 2014. The results of the consultation, and the Police and Crime Commissioner's proposals, will be published later in 2013.

Background

The Police and Crime Commissioner for the West Midlands, Bob Jones, held his first Victims Summit on Friday 11 January 2013 in Birmingham and the theme was "victims should come first". 150 attendess came together to hear about policy and services for victims in the West Midlands, as well as share ideas about how victims services could be more joined up, and how victims services could be commissioned in the future.  The report of the Victims Summit is available to download.

This event helped shape thinking about the future of support for victims in the West Midlands, and led to this consultation, which set out options for both engagement with Voluntary, Social and Community Enterprise (VSCE) sector organisations, and the structures for commissioning services.
